This study is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design. The population in this study consisted of classes V A and V B, with 60 students of MI Madani Alauddin. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling. The research instrument was a reading comprehension ability test. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The results of the analysis showed that the reading comprehension skills of students in classes that did not apply the PQ4R method were in the moderate category, while the reading comprehension skills of students in classes that applied the PQ4R method were in the high category. The results of the analysis also showed that the application of the PQ4R method had a positive effect on the reading comprehension skills of class V students of MI Madani Alauddin. The implications of the research based on the study results indicate that the PQ4R method affects reading comprehension skills. Therefore, it is recommended that schools, especially elementary school teachers, use the PQ4R method in order to achieve effective learning.
Elvira Elvia Andi Halimah Syahruddin Copyright (c) 2024 Elvira Elvia, Andi Halimah, Syahruddin https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ 2024-11-23 2024-11-23 6 2 126 134 10.24252/asma.v6i2.52290 Analisis Perkembangan Berpikir Kreatif Siswa dalam Menyelesaikan Masalah Matematika yang Melibatkan Pengetahuan Awal https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/alasma/article/view/52457
This study aims to analyze the development of students' creative thinking skills in solving mathematical problems, particularly in the context of flat geometry. The research was conducted at SMP Buq’atun Mubarakah, involving two eighth-grade students as subjects. A qualitative descriptive method was used, with data collected through written tests and interviews to understand the students' thinking processes. Data were analyzed using descriptive and thematic analysis techniques, evaluating students' answers based on indicators of creative thinking skills, such as fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The results indicate that students can generally understand problems but still face difficulties in applying mathematical concepts, especially in measurements and the perimeter of flat shapes. Students tend to make mistakes in interpreting and solving more complex problems, indicating a need to enhance their creative thinking skills. The implications of this study highlight the importance of strong instructional support and teaching methods that encourage exploration, the use of varied strategies, and technology integration to improve students' creative thinking abilities.
Nasrullah Copyright (c) 2024 Nasrullah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ 2024-11-26 2024-11-26 6 2 135 150 10.24252/asma.v6i2.52457 Eksistensi Lembaga Pondok Pesantren sebagai Pusat Pendidikan Karakter https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/alasma/article/view/47536
This study discusses the existence of Islamic boarding school education space to become a center for children's character education. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and analysis of related documents. The subjects of the study consisted of Arabic teachers and students in classes using the teaching modules. The data analysis technique used was thematic analysis. This study shows that implementing differentiated Arabic language teaching modules improved students' Arabic language skills, especially regarding text comprehension and oral production. The teaching modules designed by considering the differences in students' ability levels allowed teachers to provide a more personalized approach, thus helping students with different levels of ability to develop according to their potential. In addition, the differentiation approach positively increased student motivation and active participation in the learning process. The results of this study provide important implications for the development of the Arabic language curriculum and teaching strategies at the MTs level. Further training is needed for teachers in designing and implementing differentiated teaching modules in order to accommodate the diverse learning needs of students. In addition, this study encourages the development of more innovative and adaptive teaching modules to improve the quality of Arabic language learning in madrasah.
Anisah Firdausi Nuzula Muflihah Copyright (c) 2024 Anisah Firdausi Nuzula, Muflihah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ 2024-11-26 2024-11-26 6 2 161 171 10.24252/asma.v6i2.51420 Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Video Animasi 3D berbasis Powtoon pada Materi Kesebangunan https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/alasma/article/view/51524
3D animation video learning media is an audiovisual media that can attract students' attention to follow the learning process. This study aimed to determine the development process and characteristics of 3D animation video learning media based on Powtoon that meet the validity, practicality, and effectiveness in mathematics learning. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) concerning the ADDIE development model, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Based on the study results, validity was obtained in the very valid category. Practicality was obtained based on the results of the teacher response questionnaire in the very good category and the learning implementation sheet in the fully implemented category, from both assessments, the learning media met the practical criteria. Effectiveness was obtained based on the results of the student response questionnaire, which was in the very good category, the assessment of student activities was in the good category, and the learning outcome test was in the high category, so the learning media met the effective criteria. Thus, it is concluded that 3D animation video learning media for similar material is suitable for learning because it can fulfil the three criteria. The implications of this study indicate that using Powtoon-based 3D animated video learning media can improve the quality of mathematics learning, especially in terms of motivation, active participation, and student learning outcomes.
Alya Cahyani Idris Andi Ika Prasasti Abrar Nursalam Suharti Baharuddin Copyright (c) 2024 Alya Cahyani Idris Alya, Andi Ika Prasasti Abrar, Nursalam, Suharti, Baharuddin https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ 2024-11-30 2024-11-30 6 2 172 181 10.24252/asma.v6i2.51524 Pengembangan Modul Pembelajaran dengan Pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) pada Materi Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/alasma/article/view/51487
This study aims to determine the process of developing learning modules with the RME approach and the validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes through learning modules with the RME approach. However, the low mathematics learning outcomes in various schools indicate the need for a more interactive and contextual learning model. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of implementing the Environmental Learning model on students' mathematics learning outcomes, especially at MA Darul Fallaah Unismuh Makassar. This study uses a pre-experimental design method with a one-group pre-test post-test design approach involving one class as a sample. The main instrument used is a mathematics learning outcome test. The results of the study showed that there was a significant difference between students' mathematics learning outcomes after implementing the Environmental Learning model and students before implementing the Environmental Learning model. Thus, this model is effective for improving students' mathematics learning outcomes. Follow-up research can be conducted by testing the effectiveness of the Environmental Learning model at various levels of education or other subjects to expand the generalization of the results and understand its impact in different contexts.
Rismawati Thamrin Tayeb Fitriani Nur Sri Sulasteri Lisnasari Andi Mattoliang Copyright (c) 2024 Rismawati, Thamrin Tayeb, Fitriani Nur, Sri Sulasteri, Lisnasari Andi Mattoliang https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ 2024-11-30 2024-11-30 6 2 193 201 10.24252/asma.v6i2.52179 Pengembangan Video Pembelajaran Matematika berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education pada Pembelajaran Segiempat https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/alasma/article/view/52552
This study discusses the development of a mathematics learning video based on Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) on quadrilaterals, which aims to determine the process of developing a valid, practical, and effective RME-based mathematics learning video.
