en-US[email protected] (Muhaemin Latif)[email protected] (Kaslam)Thu, 12 Dec 2024 02:11:13 +0000OJS 3.1.2.4http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/tech/rss60Reviewing The OIC's Response And Challenges to The Issues of Normalization of Arab State – Israel Relation in The 2020-2021 Pandemic Era (Metaverse)

The normalization of relations between Arab countries and Israel in such a way has become a frightening specter for Palestine and also most of the Muslim community in the world, this issue of course raises a perception that the two countries that are said to be opening this cooperative relationship will in the future and eliminate the existence of Palestine, and also weakens the solidarity of Islamic countries towards the independence of Palestine, and does not rule out the possibility that other Islamic countries will also open up opportunities for cooperation with Israel. Therefore, as an Organization that supports international peace and security, the response or attitude of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is felt to be urgently needed in order to revitalize the unity of the Islamic state in order to assist the struggle for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.

Nur Aliyah Zainal, Andi Annur Aisyah

https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/alfikr/article/view/53178

The social movement in Salipolo Village, Pinrang Regency, Indonesia, opposing the development of sand mining, reflects a response to development policies perceived as environmentally destructive and threatening to the livelihoods of the local community. This study aims to explore how digitalization influences the dynamics of this social movement, focusing on the use of social media and data-based technologies as advocacy tools. The research findings show that digital transformation has opened new avenues for the Salipolo community to organize, document environmental impacts, and expand the reach of their movement more broadly. The use of visual data, such as maps of affected areas and environmental impact simulations, has strengthened their position in negotiations with the government and mining companies. This collaboration not only provides moral and material support but also introduces more effective advocacy strategies, broadening the impact of the social movement. The study demonstrates that digitalization has empowered the Salipolo community to fight for justice and policy changes that align more closely with their interests. Therefore, this social movement is not limited to mass actions but also involves the use of technology to strengthen the community's bargaining power in the face of detrimental development policies.

Keywords: Social Movement, Digitalization, Mining Rejection, Cross-Community Collaboration, Digital Advocacy.
Kurnia Sulistiani, Muhammad Al Hamid, Gustiana Kambo

https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/alfikr/article/view/53297

Palpolas in Taba language means payment. The payment in question is the surrender of a sum of money made by members of the local community on the tenth day of the death ceremony because it costs up to hundreds of millions of rupiah. The results of observations and interviews at the research location using the Bourdieu Practical Theory guide show that Palpolas is basically a reciprocal in overcoming the costs of the death ritual, but the ritual owner tries to collect a source of capital, by displaying symbols of kinship clans in a sacred room when bathing the corpse. , burial and Tapin (ritual center), so that it appears a knot that the local community is one family so they voluntarily pay for the ritual. In practice, there was a gamble between the family of the ritual owner and the general public at the time of Palpolas. The owner of the ritual tries to show a symbol of social prestige by minimizing the public debt that must be paid off, while the public wants to show a symbol of dominance by depositing Palpolas money more than once
Santri Sahar, Dewi Anggariani

https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/alfikr/article/view/53325

This paper explores the challenges faced by Muslims in responding to the rise of the metaverse, derived from secondary data sources such as journals and articles. The discussion begins with the background of the growing discourse surrounding the development of the metaverse, particularly driven by technology leaders who aggressively promote this new digital realm. The metaverse refers to an immersive, 3D internet world that is set to revolutionize digital interaction and socialization. As this new virtual space takes shape, it promises to bring significant innovations in communication, education, and business. However, it also raises concerns about the emergence of new forms of immoral behavior, such as addiction, cybercrime, and exploitation, which can affect individuals and societies at large, including the Muslim community. The paper argues that the metaverse's impact on Muslims will be profound, and it is crucial for Muslims to confront these challenges in a way that aligns with Islamic values. By understanding the metaverse’s potential and pitfalls, Muslims can navigate this technological shift wisely, ensuring they harness its benefits while safeguarding their moral and spiritual integrity. The paper suggests that a balanced approach, grounded in Islamic teachings, will enable Muslims to make the best use of the metaverse while minimizing its negative consequences.
Wahyuni, Imam Sadiq, Ratnah Rahman
