Abstract

Carrying capacity is a basic concept in the management of natural resources which has a limit on the use of an area which is influenced by various natural factors for environmental resistance, the carrying capacity of an environment can be decreased or damaged. due to two factors, namely internal and external factors. The purpose of study this is to analyze the level of suitability and carrying capacity of the Pango-Pango natural tourism area, the benefit of this research is to provide scientific insights to researchers in development, tourism especially related to land suitability and the carrying capacity of tourist areas. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method with the research location located in Pango-Pango natural tourism, district Tana Toraja with a focus on tourism flying fox, camping and relaxing. The analysis technique used in analysis suitability land and carrying capacity tourism with data collection techniques, namely observation, questionnaires and literature study. The results of this study indicate that the activities carried out at tourist attractions fall into the very suitable category and the carrying capacity of tourism activities is 464 people / day with activities flying fox having a carrying capacity of 168 people / day, for camping 93 people / day and for relaxing 203 people / day.
