https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/idaarah/article/view/51656

This study aims to analyze the shifting traditions of pesantren in South Sulawesi in the modern era, emphasizing the implementation of the Pesantren Law. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that modernization has influenced the curriculum, pesantren management, and daily educational practices. Pesantren has integrated religious education with general education, adopted professional management practices, and utilized technology in learning. However, they uphold traditional values such as studying kitab kuning and character education. The Pesantren Law provides legitimacy, legal support, and access to resources, although adaptation to modernization faces challenges such as internal resistance and resource limitations. The study concludes that pesantren have successfully adapted to modernity without losing their traditional identity. The implication is that strengthening the implementation of the Pesantren Law is essential to maximize Pesantren's role in fostering inclusive and adaptive Islamic education amid globalization.
Andy Andy, Khaerunnisa Khaerunnisa, Akramun Nisa

https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/idaarah/article/view/47933

This article explains how to improve teacher quality, namely through a teacher mobilization program. The method used uses a qualitative approach using literature reviews in the form of journals and books. In the current era, teachers are expected to be able to develop their abilities and skills in the field of education so that the teaching and learning process can provide quality education for students and produce quality students too. There are four competency standards for driving teachers, including: (1) Pedagogical competency; (2) Personality competency; (3) Professional competence; and (4) Social competence. Driving teachers have an important role in creating a learning atmosphere that can attract and motivate students to be able to develop their talents and potential independently. The aim of having a driving teacher is to provide motivation for students to improve their academic achievement, develop critical thinking skills, and also foster their own creativity. The results of the research show that the teacher mobilization program is a solution to various problems, the main one being educational equality, with this program being able to improve the quality of teachers both in urban and rural areas.
Azah Zakiyatul Miskiyah, Umi Anugerah Izzati, Karwanto Karwanto

This research aims to optimize the distributive supervision model in increasing teacher professionalism at MTs Al-Muslim. A qualitative approach with a case study design was used in this research to explore an in-depth understanding of the implementation of distributive supervision in madrasas. Data was collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and school principals, as well as documentation studies. The research results show that the application of distributive supervision improves the quality of teacher teaching through collaboration and joint reflection. Teacher participation in professional development activities also increased significantly from 50% to 80%, and the positive impact on teachers' emotional well-being was seen through increased self-confidence and motivation in teaching. This research also found that the distributive supervision carried out at MTs Al-Muslim strengthens Islamic values, such as syura (deliberation) and ta'awun (cooperation) which are the basis for managing education in madrasas. This model contributes to innovation by integrating Islamic values in educational supervision. Suggestions put forward for school management include adapting flexible supervision schedules, training for mentors, and supporting educational policies to support wider implementation of this model in Islamic educational institutions.
Ibnu Hajar, Susi Yusrianti

https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/idaarah/article/view/51511

Facing the challenges of globalization and rapid advancements in the education sector, educational institutions must adapt with effective strategies to enhance their quality and competitiveness. This study aims to analyze the application of strategic management as a new paradigm in the development of educational institutions through a systematic literature review approach. The research employs a qualitative methodology, sourcing literature from Scopus, DOAJ, and Google Scholar, with publications selected from 2014 to 2024. The evaluation results indicate that the implementation of strategic management in educational institutions has a significant impact on improving academic quality, student satisfaction, and global reputation. Strategies based on data, strategic planning, internationalization integration, and Total Quality Management (TQM) have proven effective in enhancing academic outcomes and institutional reputation. Additionally, internal factors such as organizational culture and transformational leadership, along with external factors such as government regulations, technology, and market demands, influence the effectiveness of strategic management. Strategic management models, such as the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) and SWOT analysis, show different relevancies; BSC focuses more on long-term performance measurement, while SWOT analysis is useful for initial analysis and adaptive strategy formulation. This research provides insights into the role of strategic management in improving the quality and competitiveness of educational institutions in the context of globalization and environmental change.
Syaharuddin, Maimun

https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/idaarah/article/view/52430

The role of academics in achieving the goal of educating the nation is very important, as demonstrated by lecturers and academic staff. Effective time management is essential, yet procrastination is still common, often putting off tasks such as preparing teaching materials, grading, and completing research. Procrastination, a complex issue involving self-control, negatively impacts work quality and academic productivity. This study aims to analyses the influence of self-control on academic procrastination among lecturers and academic staff at Kalimantan Institute of Technology, focusing on gender-based patterns. Using purposive sampling, data was collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS). Findings showed a significant negative relationship between self-control and procrastination, with a stronger effect among male academics. This suggests that higher self-control correlates with lower procrastination tendencies. These results underscore the importance of self-control in managing academic responsibilities and highlight the need for targeted interventions to improve time management and self-regulation. It is recommended that educational institutions develop training programs that focus on improving self-control, especially tailored to male academics, to reduce procrastination and improve overall productivity.
Selvian Handayani, Muh. https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/idaarah/article/view/52063

Critical and argumentative thinking skills are essential for students, especially in understanding and applying religious knowledge. In practice, however, teaching in many educational institutions still predominantly uses one-way or lecture-based learning models. This approach often leads to students being passive and less engaged in critical thinking processes, such as analyzing, evaluating, and constructing arguments based on facts and logic. As a result, students’ ability to build sound arguments and defend their opinions scientifically tends to be weak. This research aims to explore the development of effective learning models to enhance students' argumentative skills. Through this study, it is hoped that relevant and practical teaching strategies can be identified to optimize students' argumentative abilities, thereby creating a learning environment that supports the improvement of critical and analytical thinking skills. The research employs a qualitative approach with a literature review method for data collection. This approach seeks to examine various references and prior studies to identify effective learning models and strategies for developing students' argumentative skills. The findings of this research indicate that the jurisprudential learning model combined with a debate strategy can be an effective option for improving students' critical thinking and argumentative abilities. Through a structured debate process, students are not only encouraged to understand fundamental jurisprudential concepts but also become skilled in constructing logical arguments, confidently presenting their opinions, and responding to opposing views constructively. Therefore, this model is worth considering as an approach to fostering higher-order thinking skills among students.
Restu Rizki Amanda, Syahidin Syahidin, Faiz Aswa Nazhan, Rifqi Fathan Saepudin Muzakki
