This study examines netizens' responses to the inaccuracy of the COVID-19 test as Tompi’s claim on Deddy Corbuzier's YouTube channel. The research method adapted Stuart Hall's encoding-decoding model into the online space, and it will analyze the comparison between the discourse that the encoder wants to build with the interpretation built by the decoder. We found some conflicting tendencies. On the one hand, the decoder sometimes articulates what the encoder or sender means and puts some appreciation, making a new story, metaphor, joke, curse word, and opposite interpretation.

Minat Mahasiswa Jurnalistik Terhadap Profesi News Anchor

In the world of journalism, news anchoring is one of the interesting and challenging professions. A news anchor is a newscaster who reads news live on television or radio. They are responsible for conveying actual information clearly and objectively to viewers or listeners. This research was carried out with the aim of seeing the extent of interest of S1 Journalism students in 2020 in undergoing internships at RBTV to become news anchors. The method used in this study is the qualitative descriptive method. The population that is the focus of the study includes students who are currently pursuing undergraduate (S1) education at the Faculty of Social and Political Science, journalism study program class of 2020. The study informant consisted of 4 people selected by purposive sampling. The results of this study showed that of the 4 students who were the subjects of the study, 3 showed interest in becoming news anchors, while 1 other person was not interested in taking on the role (news anchor).

Competition for content creators on TikTok social media gives rise to creativity and uniqueness in creating content. Tiktokers present themselves as attractively as possible to attract the attention of the audience; this is done by Desy Genoveva, namely tiktokers with content using slang language on the account @desygenoveva_. The use of regional languages has an impact on the use of communication styles and the meaning of the content presented. This research will discuss how the communication style conveyed in content uses slang language by tiktokers Desy Genoveva on the TikTok social media account @desygenoveva_. The method used is qualitative with content analysis of 16 ngapak language contents, starting with the mention "ngapak language...". The research results show that Desy Genoveva's communication style is a dominant style, dramatic style, animated style, impression style, and relaxed style. Based on this communication style, there are seven factors that influence communication style to produce a self-presentation strategy, namely managing appearance.

This research focuses on news framing analysis by online media in Indonesia related to the source of funds for the free lunch and milk campaign program launched by presidential candidates Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The focus of this research is to dissect the logic of the media by using framing tools, according to Robert N. Entman. This research uses a qualitative method by using framing tools according to Robert N. Entman and identifying media logic to assess the tendency of journalists and/or media in framing the news about the free lunch and milk campaign program. The data of this study are online news from CNN Indonesia, Kompas, CNBC Indonesia, Tempo, and Detik news sites published on December 20–23, 2023. The results of this study show that each online media has a tendency to frame the news of the free lunch and milk campaign program in media logic with personal and negative identification. This news is heavily influenced by economic aspects because it concerns the source of funds involving tax and non-tax revenues which are considered to be burdensome to the public.

Etika bahasa jurnalistik melibatkan beberapa aspek, antara lain menghormati kebenaran dengan memastikan informasi yang disampaikan berdasarkan fakta yang terverifikasi, serta menghormati privasi dan kehormatan individu yang terlibat dalam pemberitaan. Selain itu, artikel ini juga membahas pentingnya menjaga keseimbangan dan representasi dalam pemberitaan, serta transparansi dan akuntabilitas dalam proses jurnalistik. This study explores media constructions related to the controversy over the legalization of medical marijuana in Indonesia by analyzing the framing of news by Vice.com. This issue not only reflects the dynamics of health and law but also the diverse views of the community. The media, as a key player in shaping public understanding, has a responsibility to provide balanced and informative reports. Vice.com News, as a contemporary online media, offers an alternative perspective on this controversial issue. Through the framing approach of Robert N. Entman's analytical model, this study dissects the viewpoint described by Vice.com, identifying the framing dimensions by applying four framing devices according to Robert N. Entman. The method used is qualitative descriptive; this study provides in-depth insight into how the media shapes the narrative around medical marijuana, highlighting the complexity of regulation, moral perspectives, and steps towards possible legalization. The results provide a broader understanding of the role of the media, especially Vice.com, in shaping public opinion and discussion on controversial issues.

Communication is a process of conveying messages containing information by one person to another person, the aim of which is to inform and make changes, both changes in attitudes and behavior, which can be done directly or indirectly, as well as through any media. Social media has become an increasingly popular platform for obtaining information. The Instagram account @bengkuluinfo is a well-known Instagram account in Bengkulu for providing information and currently has 470 thousand followers, which were formed since February 28, 2018. Through this case study, research will be carried out to explore the extent of followers, especially journalism students in the class of 2020 at Bengkulu University. appreciate, trust, and consider the content presented by the Bengkulu Info Instagram account to be relevant. The method used in this research is the qualitative method. The population to be used is the Bengkulu University class of 2020 journalism students. The sample consists of 3 informants who were selected using purposive sampling. The research results show that the majority show appreciation for the usefulness of the information shared; the critical response from a small portion of the audience is also an important consideration for improving and increasing the quality of the journalism they offer.

Tingkat Kepercayaan Publik Terhadap Media Daring Lokal Terverifikasi Dewan Pers di Kalimantan Timur

The amount of widespread information from various kinds of media makes public trust in the media decrease. This trust can be increased through local online media compared to national-scale media. This study aims to determine the level of public trust in news published by local online media verified by the Press Council. The design of this study is a quantitative approach with a sample of 400 East Kalimantan communities grouped by regency/city with random sampling division and can represent the number of each region. Quantitative descriptive statistics and linear regression analysis were used to see a picture of the level of public trust and see the relationship between the level of public trust in local online media verified by the press council. The results showed that the level of trust of the people of East Kalimantan regarding local online media verified by the press council was 77%, with the category of trust. Then for the influence of local online media verified by the press council on the level of public trust in East Kalimantan, significant results were obtained, meaning that local online media verified by the press council had an influence on the level of public trust in East Kalimantan.
