ABSTRACT

This research aims to determine library classification using a model of classification system by the aid of colors as a label to make students easier to find library collection in the SDN 1 Caracas Kuningan's library, West Java. The method used in this research was action research by using qualitative approach. The data were gathered through interview, observation, and literature review. The study found that the classification system uses the subject of class and subjects given main colors and combination colors for its identity. Besides, coloring system is completed by the color label as a mark which can distinguish the colors of class subject and subjects to make students easier to find library collections. The label position is placed at the center of the back of the book. There is also a label of color instruction in every bookshelf. Coloring and labelling system might facilitate the students in finding library collection efficiently in SDN 1 Caracas Kuningan's library, West Java.
