To understand this phenomenon in public organizations, we surveyed 163 public servants in East Java, Indonesia. We analyzed the data across different organizational sizes, performance levels, and strategic goals using an exploratory-based structural-equation model. Our findings reveal three key points. First, employees experience less cynicism when they perceive fairness, equality, and transparency in the workplace, highlighting the importance of organizational justice. Second, employee trust acts as a protective factor, further reducing cynicism. Finally, employee trust mediates the relationship between organizational justice and cynicism, suggesting that fostering trust strengthens the link between fair treatment and positive employee attitudes. These results emphasize the importance of staff departments and leadership promoting both organizational fairness and trust to create a healthier and more productive work environment.
Ryan Basith Fasih Khan, Bagas Adi Firmansyah (Author) Copyright (c) 2024 Ryan Basith Fasih Khan, Bagas Adi Firmansyah (Author) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/minds/article/view/41781 Wed, 19 Jun 2024 13:10:56 +0000 Beyond the Badge: The Determinants of Indonesian Public-Servant Performance https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/minds/article/view/45228
Indonesia's public servants struggle to match the comparative performance of its top ASEAN peers, potentially due to an underdeveloped workforce. This study, drawing on insights from 214 public servants, delves deeper to identify key performance drivers. Surprisingly, this analysis, using a Structural Equation Model, reveals no significant link between organizational culture and employee commitment, motivation, or performance. Instead, the study pinpoints competency mismatch as the critical factor hindering effectiveness. Actionable insights emerge, highlighting the need for strategic skill development programs tailored to individual roles and responsibilities. Furthermore, the research underscores the current emphasis on behavioral factors, calling for a shift towards targeted interventions that modify employee behavior and drive performance improvement.
Ahmad Ahmad, St. Nurhayati Azis, Moh Zulkifli Murfat (Author) Copyright (c) 2024 Ahmad Ahmad, St. Nurhayati Azis, Moh Zulkifli Murfat (Author) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/minds/article/view/45228 Wed, 19 Jun 2024 13:13:52 +0000 Increasing Customer Satisfaction through Rural Tourism’s Quality Service, Experience, and Offered Value https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/minds/article/view/45305
Rural-based tourism is one of the potential contributors to the development of the rural economy. We examine how customers perceive Toyota's product quality and pricing strategies in relation to brand image and purchase decisions. Through a survey of 170 customers, we utilize a covariance-based structural equation model (CB-SEM) to analyze the data. Interestingly, our findings suggest that product quality does not directly influence brand image, nor does it have an indirect effect on buying decisions. However, other hypothesized relationships within the model were supported. This implies that for established brands like Toyota, price competitiveness might be a more significant factor for a large segment of their customer base. Toyota's focus on price competitiveness could potentially deter new entrants, allowing them to refine their offerings with more strategic pricing.
Ackhriansyah Ahmad Gani, Amirul Haqeem Abd Ghani, Jeni Kamase, Agung Achmad Gani, Pratiwi Juniar Achmad Gani (Author) Copyright (c) 2024 Ackhriansyah Ahmad Gani, Amirul Haqeem Abd Ghani, Jeni Kamase, Agung Achmad Gani, Pratiwi Juniar Achmad Gani (Author) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/minds/article/view/46720 Thu, 20 Jun 2024 13:37:47 +0000 Exploring the Ambidexterity Landscape: A Comprehensive Bibliometric Analysis of Organizational Change Research https://journal3.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/minds/article/view/45605
The development of literature regarding ambidexterity needs to include the discussion in the strategic renewal amidst increasingly dynamic organizational changes.
