Aktivitas Antibakterial Fungi Endofit Caulerpa racemosa Terhadap Bakteri Escherichia coli dan Staphylococcus aureus
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengisolasi fungi endofit dari Caulerpa racemosa yang berpotensi sebagai penghasil antibiotic dan (2) mengetahui aktivitas antibakterial fungi endofit Caulerpa racemosa terhadap bakteri Escherichia coli dan Staphylococcus aureus. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Mei 2014. Sampel diperoleh dari desa Ujung Baji, Kec. Sanrobone, Kab. Takalar Sulawesi Selatan. Sampel diisolasi dan dipurifikasi pada medium PDA sampai diperoleh isolat murni. Isolat kemudian ditumbuhkan pada medium maltose yeast broth (MYB). Penentuan uji aktifitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode difusi agar menurut Kirby Bauer. Analisis data dilakukan melalui pendekatan dekriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa isolat fungi endofit mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli dan Staphylococcus aureus dengan diameter hambatan masing-masing sebesar 18,5 mm dan 18,35 mm.
