Author Guidelines

Guidelines for online submission:

1. An author should first register as an Author to the website of J-CeLL. Click the menu “register” to register as an author.
2. Once the author is registered, please log in to the website of J-CeLL and submit the article through online submission (with the status of active submissions).
3. The article should follow the standard template of J-CeLL provided on the website.
4. The citation and bibliography should follow the Turabian citation style.
5. The author is restricted not to send his/her article to another journal before having confirmation from the editorial team (approximately 4 weeks right after the article submitted).
6. The author should follow editorial decisions and recommendations related to article completion. All reviews and assessments will be informed through online submission.

 

Article submitted to J-CeLL editorial board must follow these guidelines:

1. The article should be based on scientific research in the field of culture, language, or literature
2. The article must be an original work and has not been previously published;
3. The article should be written in Arabic or English languages or Bahasa;
4. The article must be typed in one-half spaced on A4-paper size;
5. Article’s length is about 5,000-7,000 words, however, both shorter and longer manuscripts will be considered;
6. All submission must include a 100-150 word abstract;
7. The abstract should be written in 2 languages; Arabic or English, and Bahasa;
8. The Abstract must contain at least 4 elements; Research background, objectives, methodology, results, and findings.
9. Full name(s) of the author(s) must be stated, along with his/her/their institution and complete address;
10. All submission should be in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format;
11. Bibliographical references must be noted in the footnote and bibliography according to the Modern Humanities style. In addition, it is suggested for the author(s) to use reference manager tools such as Mendeley or Zotero
12. When a source is cited for the first time, full information is provided: full name(s) of the author(s), the title of the source in italic, place of publication, publishing company, date of publication, and the precise page that is cited. For the following citations of the same source, list the author’s last name, two or three words of the title, and the specific page number(s). The word ibid., op.cit., and loc.cit. are may not be used anymore.

To sound a long vowel (madd), author should write a horizontal mark (macron) above the letter a, i, and u. The double vowel sound (diftong) is marked by marging of the vowel (harakat) and letter to be “aw” and “ay”, such like maw‘iẓah, laylah. Shaddah or double sound is transliterated by writing twice of the letter, like kaffah, ṭayyib. Alif-lam (lam ta‘rif) is transliterated as its origins, like al-manhaj and al-salam. The word which contains ta’ marbuṭah has two signs: first, if the word placed as ṣifah (modifier) or muḍaf ilayh, it is transliterated as “ah”, like al-akhlaq al-karimah, yawm al-qiyamah; second, if the function of the word is muḍaf, it should be transliterated as at, like kalimat allah.
