ZAKAT SEBAGAI POTENSI PEMBERDAYAAN EKONOMI UMMAT DI KUA KECAMATAN KOMODO KABUPATEN MANGGARAI BARAT

Penelitian ini membahas tentang zakat sebagai potensi pemberdayaan ekonomi umat di KUA Kecamatan Komodo dengan menggunakan penelitian kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian ini zakat merupakan satu dari lima rukun Islam. Menunaikan zakat merupakan salah satu jalan menunaikan kewajiban manusia sebaga umat Islam sekaligus bentuk pendekatan diri kepada sang pencipta. Zakat menjadi salah satu solusi alternatif dalam membangun ekonomi umat, sekaligus menciptakan iklim solidaritas sesama manusia. Zakat merupakan salah satu ciri dari sistem ekonomi Islam, karena zakat menekankan prinsip keadilan dalam sistem ekonomi Islam. Dapat dikatakan bahwa peran zakat dalam pemberdayaan ekonomi umat di Kecamatan Komodo Manggarai Barat sangat signifikan. Baznas sebagai lembaga yang berwenang dalam pengelolaan zakat di Kabupaten Manggarai Barat telah melaksanakan berbagai kegiatan yang dapat memberdayakan perekonomian masyarakat setempat. Pemberian modal usaha kepada ibu-ibu majelis ta’lim, bedah rumah, dan bantuan dana pendidikan kepada beberapa siswa sekolah di Kecamatan Komodo Kabupaten Manggarai Barat.

Abstract
This research discusses zakat as a potential for economic empowerment of the people in KUA Komodo District using literature research. The results of this research are that zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam. Paying zakat is one way to fulfill human obligations as Muslims as well as a form of approaching oneself to the Creator. Zakat is an alternative solution in developing the people's economy, as well as creating a climate of solidarity among humans. Zakat is one of the characteristics of the Islamic economic system, because zakat emphasizes the principle of justice in the Islamic economic system. It can be said that the role of zakat in the economic empowerment of the people in Komodo District, West Manggarai is very significant. Baznas as the institution authorized to manage zakat in West Manggarai Regency has carried out various activities that can empower the local community's economy. Providing business capital to women from the ta'lim assembly, house renovations, and educational financial assistance to several school students in Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency.
