About the Journal

Jurnal ISAFIR: Islamic Accounting and Finance Review is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal (licensed under CC-BY) published by Department of Accounting, Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, Universitas Islam Negeri Alauddin Makassar. This journal is issued biannually, in June and December, and has been accredited as a SINTA 5 journal under Indonesia’s national journal accreditation system.

ISAFIR welcomes article submissions written in English or Indonesian  and focuses on high-quality research articles in accounting and finance. The journal provides a platform for critical discussions and the advancement of knowledge in both theoretical and applied aspects of accounting, particularly in the context of Islamic finance and governance.

ISAFIR encourages scholarly contributions that explore and expand the boundaries of accounting and finance, particularly those grounded in Islamic values and ethical frameworks. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

- The evolution of accounting concepts, regulatory frameworks, and financial policies from value-based and faith-informed perspectives.
- Contemporary developments and critical issues in auditing and governance, with attention to integrity, transparency, and accountability.
- Behavioral dimensions of accounting influenced by ethical norms and spiritual foundations.
- Assessment models for financial and non-financial performance aligned with socio-religious and sustainability goals.
- Public sector accounting practices that emphasize justice, efficiency, and public value, especially within socio-religious contexts.
- The role of digital systems and internal control structures in enhancing reliability and trust in financial reporting.
- Financial decision-making and management strategies consistent with Sharia principles and ethical finance.
- Analysis and development of budgeting, reporting, and oversight mechanisms in public sector entities.

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening before being subjected to a double-blind peer review process to ensure the highest scholarly standards. The journal welcomes both quantitative and qualitative research with rigorous methodologies and robust analysis. Contributions to this journal are expected to enhance academic discourse and provide valuable insights for practitioners and policymakers in the field of accounting and finance.

The journal does not apply article processing charges (APC) for accepted manuscripts to support its publication activities.
