Pendidikan Sebagai Katalisator Demokrasi: Studi Kasus Partisipasi Politik Perempuan Di Kuba

Abstrak

Peningkatan kualitas pendidikan di Kuba mendorong tercapainya kesetaraan gender terutama dalam peningkatan kuota perempuan di Pemerintahan Kuba. Revolusi sistem pendidikan yang dicapai melalui kolaborasi antara pemerintah dan masyarakat sipil mampu memantik kesadaran perempuan akan haknya dalam partisipasi politik. Komitmen serta implementasi yang menyeluruh di Kuba menghasilkan indeks kualitas pendidikan yang tinggi dan menjadikan Kuba sebagai salah satu negara dengan sistem pendidikan terbaik di dunia. Adanya korelasi pendidikan dan tercapainya politik ramah gender, ditunjukkan dengan stabilnya kuota perempuan di Parlemen Kuba. Dengan melihat sistem, kualitas dan kuantitas pendidikan serta program pemerintah dan masyarakat sipil dalam mencapai kesetaraan gender dan pemberdayaan perempuan, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara kesetaraan pendidikan sebagai fokus pembangunan Kuba dengan tercapainya kestabilan pembagian kursi di parlemen melalui gender inequality index, khususnya nilai yang stabil pada peningkatan kuota perempuan di Pemerintahan Kuba. Hal ini tidak terlepas dari usaha bersama antara pemerintah dan masyarakat sipil yang diwakilkan oleh organisasi feminis di Kuba yakni Federation of Cuban Women (FMC)
