Effectiveness of Spinach Leaf Extract (Amaranthus spinosus L.) as an Anti-inflammatory against Paw Edema of White Rats (Rattus norvegicus)
Abstrak
Pemanfaatan daun bayam duri (Amaranthus spinosus L.) dalam pengobatan tradisional banyak digunakan dikalangan masyarakat selain fungsinya sebagai bahan pangan. Daun bayam duri mengandung senyawa aktif yang dapat mengobati peradangan (inflamasi). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh ekstrak daun bayam duri terhadap edema kaki tikus putih betina (Rattus norvegicus) yang diinduksi Karagenan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperiman dengan pola rancangan acak kelompok (RAK), yang terdiri dari 5 kali perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ekstrak daun bayam duri (Amaranthus spinosus L.) memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap penurunan peradangan (inflamasi) pada kaki tikus putih betina yang diinduksi karagenan. Efek antiinflamasi ekstrak daun bayam duri efektif pada dosis 1250 Mg/kg BB.
