Menelusuri Akar Masalah Rendahnya Persentase Pemberian Asi Eksklusif Di Indonesia

Abstract

Tahun-tahun pertama kehidupan anak adalah masa kritis yang besar pengaruhnya dalam hidup mereka ke depannya. Pengetahuan tentang  makna penting  ASI eksklusif untuk  perkembangan  fisik, psikis   dan   intelektual   sudah   diketahui   secara   luas.   Namun demikian, persentase praktik pemberian ASI eksklusif baik di tingkat lokal, nasional maupun global masih memprihatinkan. Sebagai negara dengan mayoritas penduduk muslim, Indonesia seharusnya  memiliki angka  persentase  pemberian  ASI  eksklusif yang tinggi. Hal ini dikarenakan seruan memberikan ASI yang disampaikan dalam Al Qur’an Surah 2:233 memberikan panduan yang jelas mengenai pemberian ASI, bahkan hingga 2 tahun, melebihi dari rekomendasi global pemberian ASI yang hanya 6 bulan. Artikel ini merupakan penelusuran pustaka yang merangkum data penyebab rendahnya praktik pemberian ASI. Hasilnya diketahui bahwa penyebab persentase pemberian ASI eksklusif  yang  rendah  dapat  dibagi  atas  dua  bagian  besar  yaitu faktor internal yang menyangkut sebab yang terkait langsung dengan ibu dan anak dan faktor eksternal yang berkaitan dengan masalah  yang  tidak  berkaitan  langsung  dengan  ibu  dan  anak. Artikel ini dapat menjadi masukan yang berharga bagi pemerintah, praktisi kesehatan, ibu dan keluarga dalam upaya memberikan pengalaman terbaik untuk anak di masa awal kehidupan dengan memberikan hak yang ditetapkan untuk mereka sesuai amanat dalam Al Quran Surah Al Baqarah: 233.
