Snack Penja Fish and Moringa Leaves Treat Anemia and Chronic Energy Deficiency
Abstract
The prevalence of anemia in pregnant women in Indonesia was 37.1% in 2013 and there was an increase in 2018 as much as 48.9% (Riskesdas, 2018). The purpose of this study was to analyze and evaluate the formulation of Penja Fish Snack and Moringa Leaves to Overcome Anemia and Chronic Energy Deficiency (KEK) in Pregnant Women. The type of research used is a mix method, which is descriptive for organoleptic tests and to determine hemoglobin levels using a quasi-experimental data collection with prepost test. Organoleptic tests were carried out with samples of pregnant women in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. The laboratory results obtained that the calorie content of penja fish crackers and Moringa leaves was 365.2 kcal, the protein content was 13.50 grams and the Fe content was 22.76 ppm. While the effectiveness test of the nutritional content of penja fish crackers and Moringa leaves showed that a p-value of 0.001 (p <0.05) was obtained, which means that giving crackers can increase the hemoglobin level of pregnant women. So it can be concluded that the formulation of Penja Fish Snack and Moringa leaves can overcome the incidence of anemia and chronic energy deficiency in pregnant women.
