Kualitas Vermikompos Limbah Blotong Tebu (Saccharum oficinarum L.) dengan Variasi Jenis Cacing
Abstrak
Blotong yaitu endapan nira kotor yang diperoleh dari proses pemurnian nira pabrik gula. Penumpukan limbah secara terus-menerus dapat menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan. Limbah blotong berpotensi untuk dijadikan bahan pupuk organik dengan metode vermicomposting (pengomposan dengan bantuan cacing tanah). Blotong mengandung Nitrogen, P2O5, humus, dan lain-lain, kandungan tersebut bisa dimanfaatkan untuk menyuburbakan tanah dan memperbaiki struktur tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis cacing terhadap kecepatan dekomposisi limbah blotong dan mengetahui kualitas vermikompos sesuai SNI:261-2019 tentang spesifikasi pupuk organik padat. Penelitian ini disusun menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) satu faktor dengan 3 ulangan yang dilakukan secara berseri. Seri pengamatan yaitu 2 MSP, 3 MSP, dan 4 MSP (Minggu Setelah Pemberian). Faktor penelitian yaitu jenis cacing yang terdiri dari Eisenia foetida (C1), Eudrilus eugeniae (C2), dan Lumbricus sp. (C3). Penelitian ini bersifat destruktif (tidak dikembalikan lagi untuk pengamatan selanjutnya). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengomposan dengan jenis cacing Eisenia foetida memiliki kandungan yang lebih baik yaitu C-Organik (35.84%), pH (7.26), N-total (2.36%), Nisbah C/N (15.19). Peningkatan massa cacing terbanyak terdapat pada jenis cacing Eisenia foetida yang memiliki kenaikan 7.11 g. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut pupuk limbah blotong tebu memenuhi persyaratan SNI NO.261/2019.
