Peran Perpustakaan Perguruan Tinggi dalam Research Data Management untuk Mendukung Scholarly Communication
Abstract
Research Data Management (RDM) merupakan trend baru pada perpustakaan perguruan tinggi dalam mendukung World Class University. Research Data Management merupakan istilah yang menggambarkan kegiatan organisasi, penyimpanan, preservasi dan berbagi data yang dikumpulkan untuk sebuah penelitian. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pentingnya RDM pada perguruan tinggi dan mendeskripsikan model RDM di Perpustakaan National University of Singapore. Metode yang digunakan untuk penelitian adalah studi pustaka dan dokumentasi. Temuan pada tulisan ini yakni pentingnya RDM di perguruan tinggi bertujuan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas riset, meningkatkan efesiensi riset serta meningkatkan keamanan data dan meminimalkan resiko kehilangan data riset. Selain itu didapatkan model RDM yang diberikan berupa tahapan dimulai dari organisasi file, format file, metadata, lisensi dan hak cipta, pengelolaan data sensitif, preservasi dan sharing data serta sitasi data.
ABSTRACT
Research Data Management (RDM) is a new trend in universities to support World Class University. Research Data Management is a form of unique activity which managed how to collected, storage, preserved and data sharing for study. This paper aims to find out how important RDM in universities and describe the RDM model in the National University of Singapore Libraries. The method used for this research is literature study and documentation. The finding showed that RDM is very important to improve research reproducibility, increasing research efficiency and enhancing data security and minimizing the risk of data loss. Best practice for RDM in the National University of Singapore Libraries showed several steps are file organization, file formats, metadata, dealing with sensitive data, preserving and sharing data, rights and licensing and data citation.
