Abstract

This research discusses the influence of economic growth and wages on the unemployment rate in Enrekang Regency. This research aims to determine the effect of government spending, labor force and wages on economic growth, to determine the effect of government spending, labor force and wages on unemployment rates, to determine the effect of government spending, labor force and wages on economic growth through unemployment rates, to find out the influence of economic growth on the unemployment rate in Enrekang Regency in 2008-2023.

This research was conducted in Enrekang Regency using secondary data with time series data for the period 2008-2023. The data obtained is not directly from the field, but through data provider institutions or agencies that have processed it in a report or document. This type of research is quantitative research with hypothesis testing methods and the model chosen is path analysis using Eviews software.

Based on the results of the data analysis that has been carried out along with the discussion that has been presented, it is obtained that the government expenditure variable has a negative and insignificant effect on economic growth in Enrekang Regency, the labor force variable has a negative and insignificant effect on economic growth in Enrekang Regency, the regional minimum wage variable has a negative and significant effect on economic growth in Enrekang Regency, the government expenditure variable has a negative and insignificant effect on the unemployment rate in Enrekang Regency, the labor force variable has a positive and insignificant effect on the unemployment rate in Enrekang Regency, the regional minimum wage variable has a negative and insignificant effect on the unemployment rate in Enrekang Regency, the government expenditure variable has a negative and significant effect on the unemployment rate through economic growth, the labor force variable has a negative and insignificant effect on the unemployment rate through economic growth, the regional minimum wage variable has a negative and insignificant effect on the unemployment rate through growth The economy and economic growth variables have a negative and insignificant effect on the unemployment rate in Enrekang Regency.
