COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THINK-PAIR-SHARE TECHNIQUE ANDSMALL GROUP DISCUSSION TECHNIQUE IN WRITING DESCRIPTIVE TEXT
Abstrak
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan yang signifikan dalam prestasi menulis siswa setelah menerapkan teknik Think-Pair-Share dan Small Group Discussion. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan populasi penelitian ini adalah dua kelas siswa kelas X SMA YP Unila Bandar Lampung. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes tulis dan data dianalisis melalui uji independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dalam prestasi membaca siswa setelah menerapkan teknik think-pair-share dan diskusi kelompok kecil yang dapat dilihat dari nilai tingkat sig yang lebih rendah dari 0,05 (0,000<0,05). Kemudian, diskusi kelompok kecil lebih efektif daripada teknik think-pair-share dalam mengajar menulis karena skor rata-rata di kelas diskusi kelompok kecil lebih tinggi daripada skor rata-rata di kelas think-pair-share (39,2963 > 18,9375).
