MAIN CHARACTER STRUGGLING IN FACING THE BULLYING IN AMY SARIG KING’S EVERYBODY SEES THE ANTS
Abstract
This research is about the main character struggling facing the bullying in Amy Sarig King’s Everybody Sees the Ants. The objective of this research is finding out types of bullying and how the main character struggling facing the bullying. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. In analyzing the data, the researcher used theory psychoanalysis by Sigmund Freud. The researcher used categorization which is categorize the types the struggles. In collecting the data, the researcher read the novel, note taking, and marked the sentence contain to the object. The result of this research shows that there are three types of bullying in the novel: physical bullying, verbal bullying and cyberbullying. Verbal bullying is the most happened in the novel. In addition, the main character mostly uses his superego rather than his id and ego in struggling facing the bullying.
