THE PRINCIPAL'S LEADERSHIP AND ITS INFLUENCE ON STUDENTS' CHARACTER
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the principal's leadership and its influence on students’ character in Public Senior High School 1 Bone. This research is a quantitative research using ex post facto method. The scientific approach used is a sociological and psychological approach. The research population was 716 students with the technique of selecting a sample using probability sampling which was determined to be 50% of the population so that a sample of 180 students was obtained. The instrument used to measure each variable is a questionnaire. The data obtained were then analyzed through simple linear regression analysis and then analyzed the principal's leadership on the character of students through a determination test. The results of the study prove that the principal's leadership has a positive and significant effect on the character of students by 9.1% at Public Senior High School 1 Bone with the resulting regression equation Y = 59.370 + 0.416X. The results of this study are that the formation of the character of students cannot be separated from the contribution of the principal's leadership that is applied.
