THE CONCEPT OF STRATEGIC PLANNING IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
Abstract
The Purpose of this research is to learn more about describe how the concept of strategic planning in educational institutions. This study use a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The results of this study indicate that strategic planning is planning that links with approaches such as: a) formulating a vision and mission, b) identifying goals that guide the mission, c) determining goals that will help achieve goals, and d) making a strategic plan that drives goal achievement. In additions, strategic planning can be carried out using SWOT analysis in measuring or evaluating activities in organizational units/schools by evaluating Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. There are several things and inputs that the researchers would like to recommend based on the conclusions of this study, namely: 1) the school principal in designing an activity needs to be considered as well as possible because the decisions taken affect the future, 2) each stakeholders can conduct a SWOT analysis to design a mature plan. Because the SWOT can identify opportunities and even weaknesses in a activity, 3) in this study, the researchers can maximize these references.
