IMPLEMENTATION OF SCOUTING EDUCATION EXTRACURRICULAR PROGRAMS IN STRENGTHENING INDEPENDENT AND CREATIVE CHARACTER EDUCATION FOR STUDENTS
Abstract
This study aims to describe the implementation of scouting education extracurricular programs in strengthening the independent and creative character of the students of MAN 3 Makassar City. This research is classified as a qualitative research using case studies. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. Primary data sources were obtained through the head of the madrasa, deputy head of the madrasa in the academic field, scout coaches, assistant coaches, and students. The data analysis technique used went through several stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and data withdrawal or drawing conclusions. The validity of the data in this study used triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of this study indicate that: 1) The implementation of the scouting education extracurricular program in strengthening independent and creative characters at MAN 3 Makassar is going well, which is marked by the implementation of 3 aspects of the program, namely planning, implementation and evaluation; 2) The form of independent character of the students of MAN 3 Makassar is implemented through routine training activities, program implementation, and independent training, while the creative character is implemented through the participation of students in competitions, work programs and performances in Matsama activities; 3) The implementation of the scouting education program is supported by human resources, facilities and infrastructure as well as the participation of alumni, while the inhibiting factors are the lack of parental involvement, coordination between elements and government support.
