PRINCIPAL’S MANAGERIAL COMPETENCE IN IMPROVING EDUCATION QUALITY
Overview Through Curriculum Management and Educators and Education Personnel
Abstract
This study aims to describe the application of the principal's managerial competence in improving the quality of education in terms of the implementation of the curriculum as well as the teachers and education staff. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Wonomulyo using a qualitative approach. Data were obtained through various techniques used, such as observation, interviews and documentation. Data processing and analysis techniques were carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions by testing the validity of the data through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of this study indicate that the principal through his managerial competence has made efforts to improve the quality of education through curriculum management and teachers and education staff. Curriculum management is carried out through the stages of planning, organizing, implementing, and controlling. Likewise, the management of teachers and education staff is carried out properly through planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. Therefore, the headmaster of SMA Negeri 1 Wonomulyo has made efforts to improve the school to increase the accreditation that had "dropped" from accreditation A to accreditation B. The principal in managing it involves various parties, such as vice principals, educators and education staff, participants students, as well as other stakeholders who contribute to efforts to improve the quality of education.
