THE EFFECT OF PRINCIPAL LEADERSHIP AND THE ROLE OF SCHOOL COMMITTEES ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SCHOOL-BASED MANAGEMENT
Abstract
This study aims to analyze and examine the effect of principals' leadership and the role of school committees on the effectiveness of school-based management. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 19 Bone using a quantitative approach. The research population was 41 people, namely 1 principal, 22 educators, 7 other education staff and 11 school committee administrators. Sampling used in this study is saturated sampling because the population is relatively small. Data were obtained using a questionnaire instrument and analyzed using simple linear regression and multiple linear regression. The results of this study indicate that the results obtained at SMA Negeri 19 Bone show that the principal's leadership has a positive effect on the effectiveness of school-based management by 10.3% with the resulting regression coefficient is Ŷ = 40,878 + 0,278X. The role of the school committee has a positive effect on the effectiveness of school-based management by 21.1% with the resulting regression coefficient is Ŷ = 49.822 + 0.432. The leadership of the principal and the role of the school committee simultaneously on the effectiveness of school-based management is 23.6% with a regression coefficient Ŷ = 49.822 + 0.432X1 + 0.241X2. Therefore, the leadership of the principal and the role of the school committee are two aspects that contribute to the successful implementation of school-based management.
