THE EFFECT OF HUMAN RESOURCE TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT ON EMPLOYEE JOB SATISFACTION AT ALAUDDIN STATE ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY MAKASSAR
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of training and human resource development on employee job satisfaction at Alauddin State Islamic University, Makassar. This research uses quantitative research with ex-post facto methods. The population in this study was 213 employees with a sample of 40 employees determined using a purposive sampling technique. The techniques used to collect data are questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique used is simple and multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this research prove that: 1) training has a positive effect on employee job satisfaction by 24% with a significant value of 0.02 < 0.05 and tcount 3.262 > ttable 2.024; 2) human resource development has a positive effect on job satisfaction by 21.4% with a t value of 3.039 > ttable 2.024 and a significance value of 0.04 < 0.05; 3) there is a significant influence of training and human resource development simultaneously on employee job satisfaction at the Alauddin State Islamic University of Makassar of 45.2% with a Fcount value of 15.289 > Ftable 3.24 and a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05. Thus, employee job satisfaction is largely determined by the training and development carried out by the agency where they work. Therefore, leaders are expected to pay more attention to the training needs of employees and improve their professional competence. Employee human resource development is still needed so that satisfaction can be felt by employees which will have an impact on their performance.
