THE ROLE OF PRINCIPALS IN EDUCATIONAL SUPERVISION
Abstract
This article explains the role of the school principal in educational supervision. This article uses qualitative research methods with the type of library research. Data was obtained through studying sources from related books and articles to analyze concepts, theories and implementation of supervision carried out by school principals. The results of this study show that school principals make important contributions to curriculum development, quality development, school progress and improvement, approaches to learning methods and techniques, and fostering an integrative learning environment. These results show that achieving quality education really depends on the leadership of the school principal in carrying out educational supervision. In addition, the principal's leadership enables the school to achieve its vision, mission and goals. School principals need to carry out supervision based on valid information and facts. In this way, the information obtained is accurate and covers various aspects, including information about educators, students, educational staff and educational facilities. This allows the school principal to carry out his duties as an educational supervisor effectively.
