IMPLEMENTATION OF MANAGERIAL SUPERVISION OF SCHOOL SUPERVISORS IN IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION
Abstract
This study aims to describe the managerial supervision implemented by school supervisors in improving the quality of education at SMPS DDI Mattoanging Bantaeng. The type of research used is qualitative research. The main data sources in this study included supervisors, school principals, deputy heads of curriculum, vice principals of student affairs, school committees, heads of administration, teachers, laboratory assistants, librarians, and administrative staff. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. Data processing and analysis techniques are carried out in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Testing the validity of the data was carried out using triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of research at SMPS DDI Mattoanging Bantaeng revealed several things, namely: 1) planning for managerial supervision was carried out by identifying problems, such as limited facilities and infrastructure, lack of personal qualities, lack of motivation, lack of time allocation, lack of administrative personnel, lack of coaching for teachers and the staff and complexity of the principal's duties; 2) the implementation of managerial supervision is carried out by distributing managerial supervision instruments, both individually and in groups; 3) evaluation is carried out by the school supervisor on all parties involved in the process of implementing managerial supervision. The results of the evaluation are used as a reference for creating new programs in making improvements to improve the quality of education in accordance with the style and vision and mission of the school; and 4) managerial supervision has implications as an effort to improve the quality of education, especially at SMPS DDI Mattoanging Bantaeng and raises awareness of teachers and school members to be democratic and cooperative. Managerial supervision has been proven to be able to make good changes at SMPS DDI Mattoanging Bantaeng, including improving existing infrastructure and effective governance.
