IMPLEMENTATION OF FACILITIES AND INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT IN REALIZING COMPETITIVENESS OF EDUCATION QUALITY
Abstract
This research aims to analyze the implementation of facility and infrastructure management in realizing the competitiveness of education quality at Al-Bahra High School UPT in Jeneponto Regency. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a management approach. The data sources consist of the school principal, curriculum vice principal, as well as teachers and students. Data collection techniques are carried out using interview instruments, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use 3 stages: data reduction, data presentation, and qualitative data analysis. The results show that: 1) the planning stage is still not optimal and still needs to be improved, both in the coordination stage and in the stage of determining school needs; 2) the procurement stage is sourced from the foundation, BOS funds, and assistance from the school committee, the school prioritizes buildings/facilities according to school needs; 3) Supervision is carried out periodically by the foundation, educators also have an obligation to maintain school facilities; 4) The elimination stage of school facilities and infrastructure is carried out by checking the goods first and then determining which items to eliminate from the inventory list; 5) education quality is related to the utilization of school facilities, in this case, the learning process that leads to school competitiveness, the facilities owned by the school are still inadequate. However, the school still utilizes its strengths by utilizing collaboration of human resources and existing school facilities. School principals and educators are expected to be able to manage optimally and always strive to improve the competitiveness of the school because they have an important role in realizing educational quality.
