Journal History
The journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to everyone. Our goal is to make knowledge accessible to all, cultivating a worldwide community where research is readily accessible and can be explored without restrictions by researchers, educators, and the general public.
We aim to advance legal knowledge by encouraging research and discourse in criminal and constitutional law and other related fields. We welcome interdisciplinary perspectives and contributions from disciplines like humanities and international relations. Besides, we enrich the understanding of legal issues, especially in the context of Islamic law and its intersection with modern legal systems. We also support legal education and professional development by publishing accessible, high-quality research and analyses for legal academics, students, and professionals. Scope;1. Islamic Law; 2. The authors of a work hold the copyright and grant the Al-Daulah: Jurnal Hukum Pidana dan Ketatanegaraan the right of first publication. The work is also licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), which enables others to share the work while acknowledging the authorship and initial publication in the journal. The authors can make separate contractual agreements for the non-exclusive distribution of the published version of the work, such as by posting it to an institutional repository or editing it for a book, with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal. Authors are allowed and encouraged to post their work online, such as in institutional repositories or on their website, before and during submission. This can lead to productive exchanges and greater citation of the published work.
The Al-Daulah journal is supported by the Constitutional Law study program at the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Alauddin Makassar State Islamic University. The names and emails submitted will be solely used for journal purposes and will not be shared with any third party.
The al-Daulah journal was established in 2012 to publish the works of lecturers and researchers in criminal law and state administration in print. However, in 2017, the journal was also published online through OJS. Over time, al-Daulah has become a trusted journal for academics and the public, and in 2019, it was recognized as a reputable national journal (Sinta 3). The journal has had several editor-in-chief rotations, including Nila Sastrawary, Subehan Khalik, and Arskal Muin Salim, GP. At the end of 2023, al-Daulah aims to become an esteemed international journal by appointing Arskal Muin Salim as Chief Editor and engaging international editors from different countries to participate in publishing and publication missions. Many parties have contributed to the development of al-Daulah, and while it's hard to mention everyone, they all deserve the highest appreciation. Therefore, the public is invited to join in strengthening the existence of al-Daulah by supporting its future endeavors. The journal has been cited more than 1,600 times and 34 times in Scopus-indexed journals.
This journal utilizes LOCKSS systems to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries. It permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. Additionally, we also archive in our institutional repository and third-party platforms such as GARUDA and Moraref
