8. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

The manuscript should be typed using word processors (Microsoft Word or Open Office) software. The font used throughout the paper is Cambria. The paper size is A4 (i.e., 210 x 297 mm), one-column format with a 1.58 inches margin at the top, a 1.18 inches margin at the bottom, 1.22 inches margin on the left, and 1.22 inches margin on the right.

Manuscript submitted to this journal should follow the heading below, except for the review article: Title; Authors Name; Authors’ Affiliation; Corresponding email; Contact Person; Abstract; Keywords; Introduction; Methods; Results and Discussion; Conclusions; and References.

The article is written in a foreign language (English or Arabic) using an essay format with a title for each section. The title of each section uses the same font (all section titles are written bold and sub-section titles are in bold and italic), and it may not use numerals in section titles or sub-section titles. The use of numbers is allowed for description purposes.

8.1  Title page

The title should be brief and should not exceed 14 words, written in capital letters in the center position with 11 pt of font size, followed by sub-titles (if any) written in Title Case model.

The author's name is written without an academic degree and placed under the article title. Then, consecutively listed the name of the affiliated institution and its full address, followed by email addresses and active contact person number with 10 pt of font size.

8.2  Abstract (10 pt, bold)

The abstract presents minimum of 100 words and maximum of 150 words. It should not repeat the information that already exists in the title. The abstract should be written in a foreign language (English or Arab) and Bahasa Indonesia. [10 pt].

8.3  Keywords (10 pt, bold)

Immediately after the abstract, provide keywords that consist of 3-6 phrases or words written in alphabetical order. [10 pt].

8.4  Introduction (11 pt, bold, spacing before 12pt, spacing after 6 pt)

The introduction contains the background, literature review, and research objectives that are narrated clearly and smoothly. Referral and citation used is in-note (in-text citation), not endnote or footnote. Referred sources, for example, a book by Imam Bawani is written as follows: Bawani (2016: 100) or (Bawani, 2016: 100) for “direct quotation” by including the page number after the year followed by a colon, and Bawani (2016) or (Bawani, 2016) for “indirect quotation”. Then, for reference to the verses of Qur'an, it is written as follows:

اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ (1) خَلَقَ اْلإِنْسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ (2) اقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ اْلأَكْرَمُ (3) الَّذِي عَلَّمَ بِالْقَلَمِ (4) عَلَّمَ اْلإِنْسَانَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ (5)

(1) Recite in the name of your Lord who created, (2) Created man from a clinging substance, (3) Recite, and your Lord is the Most Generous, (4) Who taught by the pen, (5) Taught man that which he knew not. [10 pt].

Direct quotations are indicated by writing the year followed by a colon and page number, while indirect quotations only mention the year. If you use the Mendeley application, this citation technique is easy to do based on the APA (American Psychological Association, the 6th edition) style, which guides this quotation style. [11 pt].

8.5  Research Methods (11 pt, bold, spacing before 12pt, spacing after 6 pt)

The research method consists of the study/research types, data sources, data collection techniques, research instruments, population and samples, and processing techniques and data analysis. The method is presented in the form of paragraphs, not in numbering. [11 pt].

8.6  Results and Discussion (11 pt, bold, spacing before 12pt, spacing after 6 pt)

The result and discussion of the research cover 60% of the length of the article's body. The results of the research are the core part of scientific articles consisting of the results of data analysis and hypothesis testing. To explain the results of the analysis/research, it must equip the charts, figures, tables, and/or graphs. The discussion section presents the logical findings and relates to the relevant references. [11 pt].

Figures

Use Arabic numerals to number all figures (e.g., Figure 1, Figure 2) according to their sequence in the text. The figure title and number are below. It is placed in the middle with all words start using a capital letter, except conjunctions. If it is more than one line, the title is written in a single space.

Figure 1. Pretest and Posttest Average Score Graph of Experiment and Control Classes

Tables

Each table must be labeled by using Arabic numerals (e.g., Table 1, Table 2) and include a title. Tables are sequentially numbered with their titles and put them above the table. Place footnotes of the tables under the table body and indicate them with superscript lowercase letters (a, b, c, etc.), not symbols. Do not use vertical rulings in the tables. Each column in a table must have a heading and abbreviations; when necessary, it should be defined in the footnotes. The table title is placed in the middle with all the words start using a capital letter, except for conjunctions. If the title is more than one line, it is written in a single space.

8.7  Conclusion (11 pt, bold, spacing before 12pt, spacing after 6 pt)

Suggestions consist of recommendations from the author to further researchers or advice to use this research result. [11 pt].

8.8  References (11 pt, bold, spacing before 12pt, spacing after 6 pt)

References should be in the last ten years. Preferred references are primary sources such as research reports (including papers, theses, and dissertations) or research articles in journals and/or scientific papers. All references listed in the bibliography must be included in the article manuscript. The bibliography is written alphabetically by following the APA (American Psychological Association) model.
