WORK DISCIPLINE DEVELOPMENT AS A KEY TO SUCCESS IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Abstract
Discipline is a critical attribute to instill in every individual, both within and outside of organizations. Work discipline can be a key to success in human resource management. This article aims to elucidate the importance of work discipline development as a key to success in human resource management. The article is described using library research with a qualitative approach. The data processed are derived from various sources, including books, journal articles, and previous studies. The analytical technique used is descriptive analysis of various integrated sources. This research reveals that the approach to work discipline should be tailored to the individual's condition and specific employee situation. The application of preventive, corrective, and progressive discipline in this context represents different approaches that can be effectively integrated to prevent, correct, and address violations sustainably. The study introduces the concept that work discipline encompasses various aspects, including adherence to job descriptions, dress code, and workplace maintenance, which are often overlooked in previous literature. This emphasizes the need for a more holistic view of work discipline beyond mere punctuality.
