Abstrak

Knowing the ability to read the al-Quran for eighth grade students of SMP Islamic boarding school modern Islamic education IMMIM Putra, Tamalanrea District, Makassar City, Knowing
the effect of the Ummi method on the ability to read the Koran in the eighth grade students of the modern Islamic boarding school for the al-Quran education of IMMIM Putra, Tamalanrea District, Makassar City. This thesis is presented in the form of Ex Post Facto research, with a quantitative approach, using data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The population and sample were all students of class VIII SMP IMMIM Putra, totaling 30 people. In this study, the results of the study were: The use of the Ummi method in the IMMIM Islamic boarding school was going well, this can be seen in the results of the questionnaire, which was in the medium category of 63.33%. The ability to read the Koran is in the medium category at 56.67%. For a significance level of 5%. So it can be concluded that the use of the Ummi method on the ability to read the Al-Quran for students of class VIII of the modern Islamic boarding school education al-Quran IMMIM Putra, Tamalanrea District, Makassar City. But needs too be inproved again.
